Each year, the hunter ring welcomes a record number of new participants. Also on a steady rise is the financial investment required to compete. The result is always-higher expectations and always-stiffer competition. Every rider, owner and trainer wants an edge.
In the ring on the day of the competition, when it is the score that counts, the question is often, “Why did the horse and rider rate a 58?” To those with a vested interest, it certainly was at least a 90.
To score and win in the ring, the real question to answer is, “How did the judge see that performance?”
Through the experienced eye of veteran judge Linda Andrisani, we’ll examine 28 major and minor jumping faults, the importance of first impressions, what she looks for a in good mover, a good jumper and much more. You’ll learn the key components that determine your score.
If you want to be a better competitor, then you need to see hunter judging through this Judge’s Eye.
